You stop checking your brows in every mirror. That’s the first thing most people notice.
Your morning routine gets shorter because you’re not spending time with pencils, powders, or trying to make both sides match. You wake up, wash your face, and your brows are already done. They look like real hair because the technique mimics natural growth patterns, not a solid block of color.
If you’ve been dealing with sparse brows from over-plucking, aging, or just genetics, microblading fills in those gaps without looking obvious. The results last anywhere from 18 to 30 months depending on your skin type and how much sun exposure you get. You’ll need a touch-up once or twice a year to keep them looking fresh, but that’s it.
You’re not locked into one look forever. During your consultation, we map out a shape that fits your face, your bone structure, and what you actually want to see in the mirror. If your natural brows are uneven or too thin, we correct that. If you just want a fuller version of what you already have, we enhance it.
We’ve been serving Briar Chapel and the surrounding Wake County area for six years. Jacqueline Grace, our founder and lead esthetician, has been named Best Esthetician in Wake County three years running and placed first internationally in the Pigmentation Artist of the Year category at The Skin Games.
That’s not just a title. It means the technique, the color matching, and the attention to detail you’re getting here has been tested and recognized at the highest level. Jacqueline is also HydraFacial Master Certified, which places her among the top hundred practitioners worldwide in advanced skincare techniques.
Our Briar Chapel clients appreciate that we’re not a beauty salon offering microblading as a side service. We’re a medical-grade skincare clinic where permanent makeup is done with the same precision and safety standards as any other clinical treatment. You’re working with someone who understands skin, pigment, facial anatomy, and how to create results that look natural on your specific face.
You start with a free consultation. We talk about what you want, look at your natural brow shape, and discuss whether microblading, nano brows, or powder brows make the most sense for your skin type and the look you’re going for.
Once we agree on a plan, we map out the shape. This is where you see the outline and approve it before anything permanent happens. We adjust until it’s right.
Before the actual microblading starts, numbing cream is applied. Most people describe the sensation as mild discomfort, not pain. The process involves using a fine blade to deposit pigment into the upper layers of your skin, creating hair-like strokes that blend with your existing brows.
The appointment takes about two hours. Afterward, your brows will look darker than the final result—that’s normal. Over the next week, they’ll lighten as they heal. You’ll get specific aftercare instructions to follow during that time, mostly about keeping the area clean and avoiding water directly on your brows for the first few days.
A follow-up appointment is scheduled about six weeks later for any touch-ups. That’s when we perfect the shape and fill in any areas that didn’t retain pigment as well during healing.

Every microblading service at Wake Skincare includes a complimentary consultation, custom brow mapping, the initial treatment, and a follow-up session for touch-ups. You’re not paying extra for those adjustments—they’re part of getting the result right.
We also offer nano brows and powder brows depending on what works best for your skin. Nano brows use an even finer technique for ultra-realistic hair strokes, while powder brows create a soft, filled-in look similar to makeup. If you have oily skin, powder brows often last longer because the pigment sits differently.
Briar Chapel is one of the wealthiest and most educated communities in Wake County, with a median household income over $154,000. That means most people here value their time and expect quality. You’re not looking for the cheapest option—you’re looking for someone who knows what they’re doing and won’t leave you with brows you have to hide for weeks.
The investment is worth it when you consider how much time you save over the next two years and how much more confident you feel without worrying about your brows smudging, fading, or looking uneven by midday.
Microblading typically lasts 18 to 30 months, but that range depends on a few factors. If you have oily skin, the pigment fades faster because oil breaks down the ink more quickly. Sun exposure also speeds up fading, so if you’re outside a lot without sunscreen on your face, expect to book a touch-up closer to the 18-month mark.
Your lifestyle matters too. If you use retinol or exfoliating products on your face, those can lighten the pigment over time. Most clients come back once a year for a refresh to keep the color and shape looking sharp.
The good news is that touch-ups are faster and less involved than the original appointment. You’re just adding pigment back in, not redoing the entire brow.
Most people describe it as uncomfortable, not painful. Before we start, numbing cream is applied and left on for about 20 minutes, which takes the edge off significantly.
During the procedure, you’ll feel a scratching sensation as the blade creates the hair strokes. Some areas of the brow are more sensitive than others, especially near the inner corners. If you start feeling more discomfort, we can apply additional numbing cream.
Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but the majority of clients say it’s much more tolerable than they expected. It’s not relaxing like a facial, but it’s not unbearable either. If you’ve had your eyebrows waxed or threaded, this is a different sensation but on a similar discomfort level.
Microblading uses a manual blade to create individual hair-like strokes. It’s best for people who want a natural, feathered look and have normal to dry skin.
Nano brows use a machine with an ultra-fine needle to create even more precise strokes. The result looks nearly identical to microblading but tends to last longer and works better on oily skin because the pigment is deposited more evenly.
Powder brows create a soft, shaded effect that looks like you filled in your brows with makeup. Instead of individual strokes, the pigment is applied in tiny dots that blend together. This technique is ideal if you want fuller, more defined brows or if your skin is too oily for microblading to hold well.
During your consultation, we’ll look at your skin type, your natural brows, and what you’re hoping to achieve, then recommend which technique makes the most sense.
This is one of the most common concerns, and it’s valid—plenty of people have seen bad microblading that looks like a Sharpie. The difference comes down to color matching and technique.
During your consultation, we choose a pigment that matches your natural hair color and skin tone. If you have light brown hair, we’re not using black ink. If your skin has warm undertones, we adjust the pigment to complement that.
Right after the procedure, your brows will look darker than the final result. That’s because the pigment is sitting on top of the skin and hasn’t settled yet. Over the next 7 to 10 days, they’ll lighten by about 30 to 40 percent as they heal. By the time you come back for your touch-up, you’ll see the true color.
The goal is always to enhance what you already have, not to give you brows that don’t belong on your face. If something looks off during the mapping stage, we adjust it before any pigment goes in.
The first week is the most important for healing. Your brows will feel slightly tender and look darker than expected. You’ll need to keep them dry for the first few days, which means no sweating, swimming, or letting water hit them directly in the shower.
You’ll apply a thin layer of healing ointment a few times a day to keep the area moisturized. Around day three or four, the brows will start to flake and peel. Don’t pick at them—let the skin shed naturally. Picking can pull out pigment and create uneven spots.
By day seven, most of the peeling is done and your brows will look lighter and more natural. You can go back to your regular skincare routine, but avoid using retinol or exfoliating products directly on your brows for at least a month.
You can wear makeup everywhere else on your face immediately, just not on the brows themselves until they’re fully healed. Most people go back to work the next day without any issues.
Microblading at Wake Skincare includes your consultation, the initial treatment, and a follow-up session. Pricing varies depending on whether you choose microblading, nano brows, or powder brows, but expect to invest between $400 and $800 for the full service.
That might sound like a lot upfront, but compare it to what you’re spending on brow products and the time you’re spending every single morning. If you’re filling in your brows daily, you’re probably going through pencils, gels, or powders every few months. Over two years, that adds up.
More than the money, it’s about convenience. You’re not worrying about your brows smudging at the gym, fading by the end of the day, or looking uneven in photos. You wake up ready to go.
The investment makes sense if you value your time, want consistent results, and don’t want to think about your brows anymore. If you’re still on the fence, book a free consultation and we’ll walk through exactly what you’d be getting and whether it’s the right fit for you.
