Eyebrow Microblading Near Stem, NC

Stop Filling In Your Brows Every Day

You’re spending 10 minutes every morning trying to get your eyebrows to match. One looks thicker than the other. The color isn’t quite right. By midday, they’ve faded or smudged.

Microblading changes that. You get symmetrical, natural-looking brows that frame your face the way makeup never could. They don’t smudge when you work out. They don’t fade by lunch. They’re just there when you wake up.

This isn’t about vanity. It’s about reclaiming time and feeling put-together without the effort. Whether you’re heading to work in Raleigh, running errands in Wake Forest, or just living your life in Stem, your brows stay consistent. No touch-ups. No guessing. Just confidence.

Professional Microblading in Stem, NC

Trained, Certified, and Actually Good at This

We’re based in Wake Forest and serve clients throughout Wake County, including Stem, Youngsville, Rolesville, and Franklinton. Our founder and licensed esthetician, Jacqueline Grace, has been named Best Esthetician in Wake County three years running. She’s also won first place internationally in the Pigmentation Artist of the Year category at The Skin Games.

That’s not bragging. It’s context. In North Carolina, the only requirement to offer microblading is a tattoo permit. No training required. That puts you at risk for scarring, infection, and results that don’t look remotely natural.

Jacqueline is HydraFacial Master Certified and trained in advanced brow techniques including nano brows and powder brows. Every consultation is free, and every treatment is customized to your face, your skin type, and what you actually want to see in the mirror.

How Microblading Works Near Stem

Here's What Happens During Your Appointment

You start with a free consultation. Jacqueline assesses your natural brow shape, discusses your goals, and determines whether you’re a good candidate. Not everyone is. If you’re on blood thinners, have certain skin conditions, or are prone to keloid scarring, she’ll tell you upfront.

If you move forward, the actual microblading appointment takes about two hours. First, your brows are mapped and shaped to match your facial structure. Then a topical numbing cream is applied. Once you’re comfortable, Jacqueline uses a fine blade to create hair-like strokes that mimic real eyebrow hairs. The pigment is deposited into the upper layers of your skin—not as deep as a traditional tattoo.

You’ll leave with slightly darker brows than the final result. That’s normal. Over the next week, they’ll lighten as they heal. A follow-up appointment six to eight weeks later ensures the color and shape are exactly right. After that, your brows last 18 to 30 months depending on your skin type and lifestyle.

Brow Microblading Options in Stem

Different Techniques for Different Goals

Microblading isn’t the only option anymore. Depending on your skin type and the look you want, nano brows or powder brows might be a better fit.

Nano brows use a machine instead of a manual blade, which allows for finer, more precise strokes. This technique works especially well for oily skin, where traditional microblading can blur over time. Powder brows create a soft, filled-in look similar to brow powder makeup. It’s ideal if you want more coverage or have very sparse brows.

In Wake County, where humidity and sun exposure can affect how pigment holds, choosing the right technique matters. Jacqueline walks you through the pros and cons of each method during your consultation. You’re not locked into one approach just because it’s trending. You get what works for your face and your life.

The goal is always the same: natural-looking, long-lasting results that don’t require daily maintenance. Whether you’re in Stem, Creedmoor, or Louisburg, you’re getting the same level of care and expertise.

How long does microblading last and when will I need a touch-up?

Microblading typically lasts 18 to 30 months. That range depends on your skin type, how much sun exposure your face gets, and your skincare routine.

Oily skin tends to break down pigment faster, which is why nano brows are often recommended instead. If you use retinol or exfoliating acids on your face, that can also shorten how long the pigment lasts. Sun exposure fades the color over time, so wearing SPF helps maintain your results.

Most clients come back for a touch-up around the 12 to 18 month mark. That’s not because the brows disappear—they just start to lighten. The touch-up refreshes the color and shape. It’s quicker than the initial appointment and keeps your brows looking sharp.

Most people describe it as uncomfortable, not painful. You’ll feel pressure and a scratching sensation, but it’s not sharp or unbearable.

A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure starts, and it stays on for about 20 minutes. That takes the edge off significantly. Some areas of the brow are more sensitive than others, especially near the inner corners or the tail. If you start to feel discomfort during the appointment, more numbing cream can be applied.

Pain tolerance varies. If you’ve had your eyebrows waxed or threaded, this feels different but not worse. The entire process takes about two hours, and most of that time is mapping and prep work. The actual microblading portion is usually 30 to 45 minutes.

You’re a good candidate if you have relatively normal skin, aren’t on blood thinners, and don’t have active skin infections or conditions like eczema or psoriasis near your brows.

You’re not a good candidate if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes that’s not well-controlled, are on Accutane, or have a history of keloid scarring. Organ transplant recipients and people on immunosuppressants may not heal properly, which can lead to poor results or complications.

If you have very oily skin, nano brows are usually a better choice. The machine method holds up better on skin that produces more sebum. During your free consultation, Jacqueline assesses your skin and health history to determine what’s safest and most effective. If microblading isn’t right for you, she’ll explain why and suggest alternatives like powder brows or a different brow treatment altogether.

Microblading uses a manual blade to create hair-like strokes. It’s been the go-to technique for years, but it doesn’t work well on oily skin because the strokes can blur over time.

Nano brows use a machine with an ultra-fine needle to create even more precise strokes. The results look just as natural as microblading, but they last longer and work better on a wider range of skin types. This technique has largely replaced traditional microblading in 2024 because it’s safer and more versatile.

Powder brows create a soft, shaded look similar to filling in your brows with makeup. Instead of individual strokes, the pigment is deposited in tiny dots that blend together. This method gives you more coverage and is ideal if your brows are very sparse or if you prefer a bolder, more defined look. It also tends to last longer than microblading because the pigment is distributed more evenly.

Your brows will look darker and more intense immediately after the appointment. That’s normal. The color softens significantly over the next 7 to 10 days as your skin heals.

You’ll experience some mild swelling and redness on the first day, but it’s usually gone by the next morning. Around day three or four, your brows will start to scab and flake. Do not pick at them. Let the scabs fall off naturally, or you risk pulling out pigment and creating patchy spots.

During the healing period, avoid getting your brows wet in the shower, sweating heavily, swimming, or applying makeup to the area. You’ll be given an aftercare ointment to apply a few times a day. Follow the instructions exactly. Poor aftercare is the number one reason people end up with uneven results. After about two weeks, your brows will look much lighter—sometimes too light. That’s why the follow-up appointment is built into the process. It allows Jacqueline to add more pigment where needed and perfect the shape.

Pricing varies depending on the technique and the provider’s experience level. At Wake Skincare, microblading includes your initial appointment, a follow-up session six to eight weeks later, and a free consultation beforehand.

The consultation is where you discuss your goals, assess whether you’re a good candidate, and choose the right technique for your skin type. That’s included at no charge. The follow-up appointment is critical because it’s when the final adjustments are made. Some pigment will fade during the healing process, and the touch-up ensures your brows look exactly how you want them.

You’re not just paying for the procedure itself. You’re paying for Jacqueline’s training, certifications, competition wins, and years of experience. In North Carolina, anyone with a tattoo permit can legally offer microblading—even with zero training. That’s why you see such a wide range in pricing. Cheaper isn’t better when it comes to something semi-permanent on your face. You’re investing in safety, skill, and results that actually look natural.
